Item Description
Enjoy a two (2) cases (24 bottles each) of Gordon Biersch's Winterbock.
Gordon Biersch WinterBock is a German-style doppelbock that is a deep mahogany color in the glass, with a dense, long-lasting khaki head. With a much deeper caramel essence than the spring seasonal Maibock, the breadiness of German malts is still quite pronounced on the nose. With the accompanying touch of spicy hops, the aroma is suggestive of pumpernickel bread. The flavor includes multiple layers of bread crust and caramel, as well as hints of Medjool dates and a very subtle smokiness. The finish is intense, warming, and complex, revealing significant sweetness but without being cloying. The beer is medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation that accentuates the delicately spicy hops. A potent brew like WinterBock is pretty versatile when it comes to food pairing: it stands up to the strong flavors of ham or venison, complements rich buttery cheeses like brie or camembert, or even goes nicely with the sweetness of German chocolate cake.
