Item Description

Camille Hoffman has always had a deep affinity with clay. As a result of a chance encounter in high school, she "was hooked as the feel of clay in [her] hands was delicious and soothing. The ability to create 3-dimensional forms out of this substance touched [her] deeply and awoke the artist within. Since then, [Camille] never stopped in [her] quest to transform this earthy substance into something that is both functional and decorative."

The pieces she creates are "a manifestation of its own deep Nature, a merging of the elements Earth, Water, Air, and Fire." They are lovingly made with assorted locally found clays for an earthen appearance and decorated with dark glazes to reflect the celestial galaxies.

Camille's work is made of commercially manufactured stoneware and porcelain clay. The glazes are commercially manufactured and non-toxic/food safe. Glazes are fired to Cone 5, 2160ºF. The clay slips are from clay that she has personally dug and cleaned.

This beautiful piece stands 8.5" tall, with a base of 3.5" in diameter.
