Christine Sneed's work has appeared in numerous journals, including Meridian, Massachusetts Review, and PEN/O. Henry Prize Stories. Her first book, Portraits of a Few of the People I've Made Cry, was chosen as Book of the Year by the Chicago Writers Assocation and was the winner of Ploughshares' John C. Zacharis prize and AWP's 2009 Grace Paley prize, on top of being longlisted for the Frank O'Connor International Short Story prize. Currently she lives in Evanston, Illinois and teaches creative writing for the MFA programs at Northwestern University and the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign.
