Item Description

Larkmead Cabernet Sauvignon 2002 from Napa Valley, California

This bottle is no longer available online or from the winemaker, making it not only a fantastic bottle of wine, but a true collectible, perfect for any red wine lover.

Winemaker's Notes

2002 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon shows a dense purple color, which leads to bold and intense aromas of ripe blackcurrant, spicy licorice, black tea leaves and smoke. The palate is immediately rich and dense but remains light on its feet due to the wine's inherent vineyard-driven minerality. A deep pure core of fresh black fruit dominates with secondary flavors of graphite and dark chocolate. The tannin structure is broad and lush and the vintage-derived ripeness creates a layered texture with plenty of fresh acidity to pick up and extend the finish.

95 points on the Wine Advocate!

The Wine Advocate - "Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the opaque purple-hued 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon reveals a fifth-growth Pauillac Pontet-Canet-like creme de cassis purity intermixed with lots of graphite and a touch of vanilla. This young, vigorous, full-bodied wine possesses an exciting personality as well as a terrific finish and length. It is coming into full maturity, where it should remain for another 15-20 years. "
