Elinor Lipman ventured into creative writing when she was 28 years old and has since published 12 books, one of which (Then She Found Me) was adapted for the screen. She is the recipient of the New England Book Award for fiction, a lifetime achievement award from the New England Library and Information Network, and The Poetry Center's 2007 Paterson Fiction Prize. Lipman has taught creative writing at Smith College, Hampshire College, and Simmons College, and currently lives mostly in Manhattan.
