“The art that I create on any given day reflects my mood, dreams and self-analysis of that day. It can vary wildly, from wanting to express my deepest beliefs, hopes and desires, to simply wanting to create something that will put a smile on the viewers face.
I was the child who couldn’t stay inside the lines and wanted to color the trees purple and the sky green. Not finding encouragement from my teachers, I very quickly decided that I had no artistic talent and sought self-expression through other venues. It wasn’t until I was in my early 40’s that I enrolled in my first mosaic course and suddenly a spark that had lay dormant for decades was reignited.
Today I make art solely to regenerate my spirit and express my creative nature in something I can touch and feel both physically and emotionally. I prefer to allow the viewers of my work to draw their own conclusions about what the work might mean. Everyone has their own unique perspective on the world around them, and it pleases me that I can contribute in some small way, to the exercise of exploration.
If the viewer of my art experiences any part of the joy that I receive in the creation of my work, then I am honored and pleased beyond measure.”
