Item Description
While the grapes come entirely from our estate vineyard, this wine has been blended to include less new French oak and includes only four of the five clones in the vineyard. The wine has the characteristic Peterson Vineyard aroma and fruit, but is a bit lighter in style than the vineyard designate.
Handcrafted by renowned winemaker Ed Kurtzman, the Mansfield-Dunne 2012 Santa Lucia Highlands pinot noir contains a mix of 4 of the 5 clones planted in the vineyard (Pommard (05), 667, 777, and 115) and was aged in French oak (35% new) for 11 months before bottling. Light garnet color, very fragrant nose of pomegranate, sassafras, peaty earth and smoked jasmine tea. There's a soft entry on the palate with subtle berry flavors, then from the mid palate through the finish the refreshing Santa Lucia Highlands acidity comes on to balance out the mouthfeel. Drink this from 2014 through 2018.
- Etched double magnum of 2012 Pinot Noir, Santa Lucia Highlands
