(1) Bottle of Dutton Goldfield Estate Pinot Noir-"Dutton Ranch farms over eighty unique, separate vineyards located in the coolest areas of the Russian River Valley, primarily in the Green Valley sub-appellation, and our Dutton Ranch Pinot blend represents our vision for the character of this special region: juicy berry fruit in both the nose and the mouth, solid structure and fine tannins, and alluring balance. Galante, Silva, Emerald Ridge, Widdoes and Jentoft are all in the heart of Green Valley, and each contributes their unique variation of Green Valley fruit to the complexity of the blend. Morelli Lane is high on the Ridge to the west of the Valley itself and offers a bit of warmer cherry fruit to the mix. Freestone is in the far southwestern corner of the Russian River appellation, and contributes its killer depth and spice to the low notes of the wine. 2014 was our third drought year in Russian River Valley, and while this and the growing season weather was very similar to 2012 and 2013, the vines produced much smaller clusters and overall crop this year. The resulting wines are particularly concentrated and dense. The wine aromas are like a basket of black and Bing cherries, with a little red licorice whip weaved between. Violet blossoms and sandalwood notes frame the fruit, along with a touch of candied raspberry. In the mouth, the wine is deep and silky, with the wonderful combination of brightness and richness we love in Pinot. The cherry flavors are accented with darker black raspberry and a bit of black tea and nutmeg, along with a morsel of toffee on the lingering finish. This crowd-pleasing and food-friendly Pinot has a broad range of pairings, from Pepato cheese and smoked salmon mousse appetizers, to gnocchi with mushroom sauce and spice-rubbed tuna steaks."- Dutton Goldfield Website
Navarro 2015 Pinot Noir Grape Juice- "Our goal, whether for wine or juice, is to produce something that is flavorful, true-to-variety and grown in a sustainable manner. In spite of the fact that we are harvesting Pinot Noir grapes that otherwise could be made into more expensive wine, harvesting for juice is fun; it gives us a preview of the upcoming harvest. We harvest Pinot Noir for juice at the same level of ripeness as sparkling wine; harvesting them earlier would result in less flavor and harvesting them later would make the juice too cloying. We cold filter these juices almost immediately so that the snappy fruit flavors of the harvest remain fresh; our Pinot tastes of strawberry and rhubarb with a little tang to the finish."-Navarro Website
(This Grape Juice is Non-Alcoholic)
