Item Description

Enjoy a cocktail hour full of unique tastes from the past - a flight of four different vintage cocktails accompanied by the history of each cocktail and stories about its place in drinking history. This event is a perfect start to a dinner party, or can be a stand-alone event. The Logistics The hosts provide the setting and Arnold provides: • ingredients for all cocktails, • Mixing of all cocktails (with audience participation!) • history of each drink and stories from its past, • Custom event menu with recipes for each cocktail for all participants. Choosing the Cocktails Arnold will collaborate with the host/hostess to select cocktails that are suited to their historical interests, their tastes in spirits, the season or any specific themes. Examples of some popular themes for these tastings have included: • 19th century American drinks – the Original Cocktails • Prohibition-era cocktails – “The Speakeasy” • Newport c. 1938 - Summer cottage cocktails • Champagne cocktails (featuring the “French 75”) • A Trip to Hemingway’s Paris (in cocktails) • Winter cocktails – “The Dark and the Warming” • Glamorous Hollywood – Valentino’s “Blood and Sand” to the “Brown Derby” • New Orleans – “Beyond the Hurricane”
