Item Description
Limited Edition 476/1938 Framed Match Race Commemorative of Seabiscuit. Features clippings from the November 2nd, 1938 Baltimore News-Post of Seabiscuit’s race with 1937 Triple Crown winner War Admiral in the 1938 Pimlico Special. Seabiscuit, a grandson of the immortal Man o' War and the preeminent horse based in the western US, almost faced each other several times that summer but for one reason or another, they never met. Finally, a meeting was arranged for November 1, 1938, in the Pimlico Special, in what was billed as The Match Race of the Century. Seabiscuit, a year older than War Admiral, won by four lengths and broke the track record. A photo of this historic race, a chart of the match, and an Affidavit of Limited Edition from the Gallery of Champions. Framed, measures 32.5 x 16.5"
