Item Description
Improv-LA is a place for actors and non-actors alike to strengthen your communication and public speaking skills and tap into your creative side - all while having a blast!
Being able to think quickly on your feet, stay in the moment, and roll with any sudden changes makes you both a better performer and more adept in social interactions.
The Level 1 class will cover:
- Techniques that will improve your public speaking skills so that you'll be more confident, more creative, and think quickly on your feet. These same techniques can be applied to social situations
- Different ways to generate ideas and never "go blank" again
- Give yourself stage presence in any situation
- Create a strong unscripted improv scene and show, starting from scratch
- Strengthen your sense of humor and comedic timing
- Learn the long form structure The Armando and Monologues
- Actively listen and react in the moment, and thus become a stronger performer and person
When I signed up for the Level One class, the idea of being vulnerable in front of total strangers was, to say the least, daunting. I'm not necessarily aspiring to do this professionally, but I wanted the chance to learn how to think on my feet, work through my social anxiety, and feel comfortable being myself in any setting. Thankfully I came to the perfect place for that!!!...I can't recommend it highly enough! Take this class and break out of your shell - you will not regret it!! - Shaindi S., Marina del Rey
