Item Description

Santa Fe Yantra

Oil on canvas, 30 x 30 inches

Yantras are geometrical representations of subtle values of creation, most commonly associated with expessions of the divine. They act as portals to connect one's awareness to the energies and locations in time and space that they represent.

I love the land in Santa Fe. There's a power that really resonates with my physiology. A friend from Nepal expressed it very eloquently. He said, "There is a strong 'witness' value in the land here, just like in the Himalayas."

I knew exactly what he meant. The land in this part of New Mexico brings out a strong cosmic perspective in your consciousness.

Many who view Douglas' work report inner spiritual transformation and energetic healing.

Douglas was gifted with the ability to paint late in life following a meditation experience of Divine Mother dancing in his heart lotus. Douglas explains, "Divine Mother is the artist. I just try to be alert to what she is telling me, and not get in the way. The less the ego is involved, the better I can express her Light and Silence in my paintings. And of course, it helps to keep improving my painting skills."
