Karin Kanc, MD, PhD is a diabetologist that runs her own diabetes centre Diabetes & Me, in Ljubljana, Slovenia (www.jazindiabetes.si)
She and her team take care of people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes as well as for women with gestational diabetes. Her special focus is innovative approach to education, among others, by means of a hands-on experiemnt Sweet-o-bike, developed together with Hisa experimentov (www.he.si), the first hands-on science centre in Slovenia.
Since 2012, she is the founder of yearly symposia DiaMind, where she and her team focus on education of HCP on psychology and diabetes (www.diamind.si).
In 2008, she started to practice mindfulness; in 2014 she became an avid mindful eating follower since she met/practiced with Jan and Char in Great Vow.
Since 2015, she also is a certified integrative psychotherapist (IIPA), with focus on therapy of individuals with diabetes.
