Item Description

Offered is an autumnal landscape oil painting by Texas/California artist Erin Knight Wiley.  The artist was born in Texas in 1909 and lived in there into the 1940's.  During her later years she had a studio-home in Spring Valley in San Diego County, California.  She died there in 1994.  Her small paintings are mostly landscapes.  The source of this information is "Arists in California 1786-1940" by Edan Hughes.

The painting belonged to the donor's parents, who lived in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.  Although it was painted elsewhere, it evokes New England in the fall, which drew them to this lovely work of art.

Details:  Framed oil painting is 24" tall by 28" wide.  Framed in wood, no glass.  Condition is aged, but good.  Signed by the artist.
