The "grandaddy" of all comedy clubs, The Ice House marks its 34th anniversay as the nation's oldest comedy club. Steeped rich in tradition, The Ice House has been voted "Best West Coast Club" by Comedy-USA's nationwide survey of today's working comedians and, dubbed "legendary" for staging its share of phenoms both past and present. Located in Pasadena, California, The Ice House stands out singularly, a premiere A-room. Comedy royalty Pat Paulsen, Steve Martin, Lily Tomlin, Robin Williams, David Letterman, Jay Leno and Tim Allen have all graced The Ice House stage. "Wayne's World" star Dana Carvey, Dennis Miller, "Loco Slam's" Paul Rodriquez, "Full House" co-star Bob Saget, Bobcat Goldthwait, and "Politically Incorrect's Bill Maher, plus up-and-comers like Ralph Harris ("On My Own"), Henriette Mantel ("Good Advice") and Craig Shoemaker are only a few amoung the many familiar funny faces to perform regularly at The Ice House.

Bearing the name The Ice House from its early beginnings as an ice factory, today the 200 seater holds a special place in the hearts of both audiences and comedians. One significant secret to the club's success is in the showroom's design. The furthest seated distance from the stage is only 25 feet, making every seat the best seat in the house and, The Ice House, and intimate setting for a large standup room.

The Ice House is also the site of most recorded "live" albums by 50 illustrious comedy artists including The Smothers Brothers, Bob Newhart, Gallagher, Steve Martin, Lily Tomlin and Paula Poundstone. The Ice House tradtion with Hollywood's creative community continues today as seasoned standups like Jeff Wayne and Diana Jordan showcased to industry-packed audiences, nabbing high profile management and landing network development deals for the 1994-1995 television season. Comedian Pam Stone, in fact, was originally spotted by "Coach" producers and subsequently, cast in the highly rated ABC-TV series following an Ice House spot. "Home Improvement" superstar Tim Allen was originally brought to Los Angeles by Ice House owner, Bob Fisher.

With 8,000 patrons passing through The Ice House Doors each month and over 2,000,000 satisfied customers sine 1960 it's no wonder the "granddaddy" of all comedy clubs is nothing short of "legendary." Yesterday and today.
