Item Description

Whether you're a beginner or seasoned pro, time spent fishing on the waters of Santa Monica Bay is always a wonderful experience – whether you catch fish or not. But it's rare to not come home with some delicious eating fish.

Your open party half-day fishing adventure for two people takes place on the New Del Mar, a 75' all aluminum sportfisher that runs morning and afternoon half-day trips out of Marina Del Rey Sportfishing. Your courteous captain and crew will help you rig up your tackle for whatever is biting that day and offer any help you need during the trip. Other passengers on the boat will generally be happy to help beginners as well. Don't have rods and reels? You can rent them for a small additional fee on the boat.

Half-day trips are also the perfect way to introduce youngsters and teens to fishing. On the way to and from the fishing grounds you'll see a variety of sea birds, sea lions, and possibly porpoise and whales. A great day on the water, and they'll be "hooked."

The comfortable boat has rest rooms and a large inside galley with coffee, sodas, beer, snacks, breakfast burritos, and cheeseburgers that put In-N-Out to shame.

The Santa Monica Bay is home to numerous types of gamefish. From Rocky Point to the south, up to Point Dume in the north, Marina del Rey Sportfishing fishes them all. A variety of tasty deepwater rockfish are always present and seasonal gamefish can include halibut, sand bass and calico bass, barracuda, white sea bass, and yellowtail. Wherever the bite is best, Marina Del Rey Sportfishing will be there.

The New Del Mar has a well earned reputation for finding and catching fish in the Santa Monica Bay. Their "never give up" attitude has earned a loyal following. The crew will also clean and fillet your fish for you, for a small fee.

Morning trips run from 7:30am-12:00pm and afternoon trips are from 12:30pm - 5:00pm. Trips include bait.  A California Fishing License is required and one-day licenses are available on the boat. Tackle rental, license, galley purchases, etc. are cash only. No credit or debit cards. Advance reservations are suggested for your trip.

All trips depart from Dock 52, on Fiji Way in Marina del Rey, California. Parking is free. http://mdrsf.com
