This local business is operated in Covington by Marilyn Baker. Named "Entrepreneur of the Year" by SCORE, Marilyn's "zels" were featured on the Rachel Ray Show as the "Snack of the Day". Marilyn began her business, Yankee Doodle Deli, as a means of dealing with her sadness when her beloved Sheltie dog, Yankee Doodle, passed away. She started out small and today her "zels" are sold in hundreds of stores, including hospital gift shops, boutiques, coffee shops, liquor stores, bars and restaurants. They are also purchased as corporate thank-you gifts, real estate broker premiums, gala give-aways, golf outings and more.
Marilyn has an ongoing commitment to her community. Not only is she a long-time resident of Covington, but she operates Yankee Doodle Deli from a manufacturing facility in Covington where she employees four part-time workers. Hiring non-traditional workers is an important mission in her social enterprise business. She works with agencies such as The Point, Life Learning Center and the Beacon of Hope Business Alliance to find responsible employees to help process customer orders.
Everyone will love this assortment of spicy and sweet flavored pretzels. Learn more about YankeeDoodleDeli.
