Item Description
These books were written and CDs recorded by the founder and executive director of Guitars in the Classroom, Jess Baron, (formerly know as Jessica Baron Turner). The books are a complement, opening the door to playing for total beginners including those with limited fine motor ability- or folks who just want to explore Open G tuning.
The SmartStart method makes playing guitar in a gorgeous Hawaiian open or "slack key" tuning very easy to achieve. All the songs in these Book/CD packages are arranged for Open G but can be played in standard tuning as well.
Jess will personally inscribe each book according to the request of the winner so they can be given as special gifts.
This Guitars in the Classroom Music Book Package includes:
SmartStart Guitar: A Fun, Easy Approach to Beginning Guitar for Kids
Guitarra De SmartStart - Metodo y Cancionero: SmartStart Guitar Method and Songbook. This book features the method translated into universal Spanish with songs for young people from 20 different Spanish speaking cultures! This book was co-written with Jess by 5 very creative, native Spanish speaking educators!
SmartStart Guitar Songbook: 43 Special Songs for Home and School This songbook is essentially social studies and language arts on steroids. If you are learning- or teaching in elementary or middle school, this book is a plus!
The Green Songbook: 42 songs for creating and celebrating a healthy planet, arranged for Beginning Guitar with photos, lesson suggestions and eco resouces and wisdom from thought leaders like Andrew Revkin (New York Times) and photos by Thom Wolke.
