Extremely limited, our 2013 William Hill Estate Benchland Series Malbec starts with a single block from our estate vineyard on the Silverado Bench, where Bordeaux varieties thrive. This west-facing hillside vineyard gives our malbec grapes exposure to extended afternoon and early evening sunlight, assuring development of concentrated flavor and character. The wine was finished with a small amount of Petite Sirah from Thomann Station Vineyard, adding fresh fruit notes and increased structure and balance. A beautiful deep purple hue, this medium-bodies wine marries dense aromas and flavors of ripe plum, blueberry and black cherry with exotic notes of cocoa, rose petal, Portobello and cayenne. Aged for 21 months in new oak, hints of toasted oak and brown spice linger on the finish.
