Item Description
Three Common App Coaching Sessions
From Blank Page to the True You. In 650 words.
Three hour-long private sessions with Elle Melaver, a Princeton and Juilliard grad with years of experience as a playwright, tv writer, and copywriter, and professor of expository writing at The University of Iowa, The College of New Rochelle, and SUNY Old Westbury.
As she says, "I love helping young people find that great story that's inside every one of them, and then translating it into essay form. It doesn't have to be a chore -- this process can actually be fun.
I won't tell you what to write and I won't write it for you :) I WILL help you find the topic that's the very essence of you, I'll suggest edits, I'll cheerlead, I'll head off fights with parents, and I'll make sure you sound like YOU."
Sessions can be used from brainstorming through final draft, for the personal essay or for supplementals. Good through January 2018. Sessions can start as early as 5/1/17 and must start by 10/1/17. Can also be used for the following year (for current sophomores), with same time restrictions. Can be adapted for any kind of personal essay, but not for critical essays or school assignments.
