Item Description
Free Kinder Ring Junior Experience at Camp Kinder Ring For July 2017.
Kinder Ring Junior (KRJR)
Camp Kinder Ring has a unique program to start your child off with a comfortable and successful experience. Each summer we offer a three day, two night KRJR program for 6 through 9 year olds. This program, run by experienced adult staff, allows your child to try overnight camp in a small dose, to go to regular activities and be welcomed into the Kinder Ring family. We have found that the majority of the children who start camp in this way gain the confidence to know that they “can do it” - they gain the comfort of knowing where everything is, experience how much fun Kinder Ring can be, and even meet many campers who will be bunkmates the following summer.
KRJR campers live in our bunks, have scheduled activities, swim in the pool, eat in the dining room, and are usually the “stars” around camp that weekend. They receive Kinder Ring t-shirts, come home with Arts and Crafts projects and a real sense of accomplishment.
Camp Kinder Ring is an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 7 to 16 located in the beautiful Hudson Valley area just 60 miles from NYC. We offer 3, 4 or 7 week sessions with athletics, performing arts and Jewish cultural identity building. Our progressive values are the foundation of our caring community. The camp provides all land and water activities, opportunities for artistic expression and outdoor adventure. Kinder Ring nurtures a sense of community by offering shared experiences that have produced memories and lifelong relationships since 1927. Camp Kinder Ring is highly regarded in the camping world for its attention to camper supervision, high quality programming and multi-generational community atmosphere.
Our commitment to striving for a better worldand our focus on progressive Jewish values contribute to the warm and caring environment we have created. Our programming is designed to provide a full experience for 3, 4, or 7 week sessions. Kinder Ring encourages both individual choice and structured group participation in planning the daily schedule. By encouraging teamwork, shared living and guiding personal development, our staff demonstrates their commitment to the healthy growth of our campers. Everyone leaves Camp Kinder Ring with a sense of accomplishment in some areas, and increased self-esteem and interpersonal skills which last a lifetime.
The Workmen's Circle
Camp Kinder Ring began in 1927, and is owned and operated by The Workmen’s Circle/Arbeter Ring. The Workmen’s Circle/Arbeter Ring was founded in 1900 by Jewish immigrants determined to establish a society to provide mutual assistance and to promote Jewish community, Yiddish culture and social justice. Today The Workmen’s Circle/Arbeter Ring is an activist-based national organization which is the prominent voice for continuation of a secular Jewish heritage and is committed to advocacy for social and economic justice. This mission supports the operation of a safe, fun summer camp in a nurturing Jewish community.
