- Item Number
- 133
Item Description
This handcrafted necklace features black round glass beads, iridescent tubular strands, and a distinctive cream-colored and black geometric shape, also made of glass. This necklace is 24" around.
It is the work of Italian glassmakers and designers, Marina and Susanna Sent of Murano. Their jewelry is often described a wearable art.
The unique tubular segment exemplifies the Sent sisters' experimental work of combining the properties of polyester and glass to achieve an unmatched flexibility to their necklaces. The women are also known for their skill in producing colors rarely achieved in glass.
Their distinctive jewelry is only available in the sisters’ gallery on the island of Murano, the center of Italian glassmaking, or in their retail stores in Venice. Individual pieces also are found in some art museum gift shops.
