Item Description
About the artist: Gene Reineking's career in the visual arts spans forty years, including studies at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. There, work under Richard Schneider prepared him for an eighteen year career as a stoneware and porcelain potter. This was followed by ten years as a wood turner and maker of fine wooden boxes. The past fifteen years or so have been spent exploring sculpture in stone, wood, and bronze. Gene lives and works at his studio in rural central Wisconsin. Many of the artist's subjects live in the surrounding fields and woodlands. He finds the quiet and beauty of nature to be an inspiring backdrop to his artistry. Gene maintains a busy exhibit schedule in galleries and shows across the state of Wisconsin.
