Item Description
Bonnie Niesen's passion for the game of soccer started early and is evident in her coaching efforts today. She enjoyed a stellar high school soccer career where she played for the Olympic Development Program's Region IV U17 team and Notre Dame Belmont High School. NCAA Division 1 soccer programs heavily recruited Bonnie and she ultimately accepted an athletic scholarship at Santa Clara University (SCU) to play for Jerry Smith and his highly reputable program. During Bonnie's collegiate career, SCU played in the NCAA National Championship game (2002), twice in the elite eight (2003 and 2005) and in the final four (2004). Bonnie scored 3 goals, had 6 assists and was given the Coaches' Award as a senior. Since graduation, Bonnie has enjoyed being an assistant coach at the high school varsity level, an associate head coach at the Bear Valley Soccer Camp, the head coach of various local youth teams, and has earned her National E Coaching license.
