Karen Berlin Ishii is a Brown University grad with over 20 years' experience as an academic and test prep teacher.  Karen tutors students in person in New York City and around the world via Skype. She specializes in reading, writing, grammar, math, and preparation for standardized tests for students from 4th-12th grades and beyond. Karen previously taught for The Princeton Review and later founded Boston Academic Tutors, producing PSAT and SAT courses for The British School in Boston and Summer@Brown University, among others. 

In addition to teaching, Karen produces seminars and lectures on SAT and ACT prep for parents and students through The Brown Club in New York and writes a regular column on test prep for Examiner.com. She reviews and edits SAT, PSAT and other test prep textbooks for major publishers including the "Dummies" series for Wiley, Vocabulary Workshop for Sadlier, the ISEE/SSAT for Barron's and the upcoming title on the PSAT for Barron's. Karen also is a distributed scorer for Pearson, scoring standardized test essays nationwide. 

This listing is for two (2) hours of test prep lessons or homework help with New York City master tutor Karen Berlin Ishii, all teaching materials included.  Lesson may be taken either:

• One 2-hour lesson offered at the student's home, if in Manhattan; or
• Students may otherwise take one 2-hour lesson or two 1-hour lessons at Karen's home on the UWS, or via Skype.

Karen teaches students for the PSAT, SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, SHSAT, NYS ELA and Math exams, and GRE.

Winning pick-up dates and times will be announced on our auction homepage after the auction close. The pick-up location will be at Spruce Street School (PS 397), 12 Spruce Street, NYC 10038. If you would like your item(s) mailed to you, you must notify us by Tuesday, March 21, 2017 via email to gala@sprucestreetpta.org. Only items such as gift certificates that fit in a standard sized envelope can be mailed. There is a $1.00 shipping and handling fee for mailed items. Items will be mailed after the scheduled pick-up dates. Liquids such as perfume, lotions or food may not be mailed and must be picked up. We are not responsible for items if you do not pick up during the allotted pick up times and if no mailing is arranged.
