Item Description
You've heard of the Three Irish Tenors? How about the Three Great Pinots from Santa Lucia?
Specially selected by Mid-Pen dad Gary Mulleneaux, these three exceptional and limited production Pinot Noirs are from the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County, just a short distance inland from Monterey Bay and in keeping with the beach theme of this year's DragonFest. Although vineyards there date as far back as the 1790s with the arrival of the first Spanish missionaries, the modern era of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay plantings began in the early 1970s. Now highly regarded as one of the premier cool climate growing regions throughout California, the sixteen mile long appellation consists of alluvial soils with heavy fog and strong, cold coastal winds in the summer – perfect conditions for quintessential Pinot Noir. Today there are fifty vineyard estates providing fruit to wineries both in and outside of the SLH appellation. These growers are the ones who have helped define the standard for New World Pinot Noir.
2014 ROAR – “Rosella’s Vineyard”
2014 Lucia – “Garys’ Vineyard”
2014 Kosta Browne – “Santa Lucia Highlands”
To make your tasting even more enjoyable, we've included 4 Riedel stemless glasses specifically crafted to enhance the pleasure of your Pinot Noirs. Casual yet elegant, these wine glasses are appropriate for fine wine enjoyment, as well as casual sipping, and are shaped to fit in your dishwasher.
