Item Description
Treat yourself (or a friend) the best fitted shirt on the planet- The Zip Fit shirt by Teddy Stratford is handmade in the Garment District of New York City with the finest fabrics sourced from all over the world.
The Zip Fit shirt by Teddy Stratford is a slim/athletic fit shirt that zips which allows the shirt to fit closer to the body without pulling at the buttons. All of our shirts are 100% cotton and Handmade in the NYC Garment District.
The shirt is available in French Royal Blue Oxford, Deep Pink End on End or Lavender Pinpoint Oxford in sizes S, M, L, or XL.
Why the Zipper?
Most men’s shirts are too baggy, but fitted shirts, because they fit closer, tend to pull open around the buttons, making you look and feel like an overstuffed sausage. The Zip Fit shirt by Teddy Stratford solves this problem by placing a zipper behind the placket, enabling men to wear better fitting shirts without experiencing the “Bratwurst Effect.” Whether you’re in tip-top shape or could stand to lose a few pounds, the result is a slim, athletic fit that is unmatched by traditional men’s button downs. (And don't worry, there is a placket behind the zipper that prevents inadvertent manscaping.)
The Best Fitted Shirt on the Planet
- Shaped like an athlete so that everybody looks like one.
Since well before the Renaissance, heroes and athletes have been depicted with wide shoulders tapering to a slim waist in a v-shape. With this in mind, we found the ideal ratio between a guy's shoulders, chest, waist and hips and applied it to the innovative Zip Fit design. The result is a shirt that fits athletic guys like it was custom made for them but also lends that shape to slimmer guys and guys who could stand to lose a few pounds.
- Premium Tailoring with the Best Materials on the Planet. While we believe that we have developed the best fitted shirt on the market, our mission doesn't stop at fit. Superior quality is also a guiding principle. We use shirting fabric from one of the top mills in Europe and stitch everything together using single-needle tailoring and flat-felled seams, which are more durable than the seams used on most shirts on the market.
- Handmade in the Garment District of NYC. In 1960, 95% of clothing sold in the U.S. was manufactured in the New York Garment District, now that number has decreased to approximately 3%. But when you’re a small operation like we are, the best way to ensure the highest quality craftsmanship is to keep it close to home. That’s why Teddy Stratford shirts are cut, sewn, and finished around the corner from where we work and live, in the New York City Garment District. Producing our shirts in New York City costs almost five times as much as producing the same thing overseas--but it's worth it.
- Quality Control. Teddy Stratford’s Master Shirtmaker, Carl Goldberg, has been making custom-tailored men’s shirts in New York City for over thirty years. He inspects each shirt before it leaves the shop to ensure that it meets Teddy Stratford’s rigorous standards.
