Unleash your child’s inner entrepreneur at JA’s vibrant summer camp!
JA BizTown Camp gives kids ages 9 -12 the opportunity to experience what it’s like to work in a job and run a business. But it’s so much more!
At this camp, the kids run the place. That’s because the place is Sam Swope JA BizTown, a 7,000 square foot mini-metropolis. JA BizTown is home to Papa John’s, LG&E, Kroger, Stock Yards Bank, UPS, Kosair Children's Medical Center, WDRB-TV and other businesses you find in our own region.
JA BizTown Camp is an indoor, academic camp that combines classroom-style teaching with hands-on activities. Much of the camp experience includes working with other campers of different ages on group projects.
Concepts learned and applied at camp:
• Entrepreneurship – brainstorming ideas and bringing them to life
• Job preparation – applying for and interviewing for a job
• Business expenses – what are they and how do businesses cover costs
• Marketing – why and how to communicate your products or
services
• Customer service – why it’s important to business success
• Tradeoffs – what to do when business resources are limited
• Making money for a business – how costs and sales affect profit and loss
• Teamwork – working with a group to reach a goal
• Personal banking – using a checkbook to pay for things you need or want.

This item is for one admission to JA BizCamp during the summer of 2017.
Camps available:
- June 12-16
- June 26-June 30
- July 10-14
* No extended care is available. Campers may not be dropped off any earlier than 8:45 a.m. and must be picked up immediately when camp is over. Camps runs from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
A certificate will be mailed to the winner and the winner is responsible for contacting the JA Summer Camp Director to redeem.
