Local Boy Makes Good – Josh Mitchell and Napa Valley Heritage Catering
--hands-on, interactive cooking class for 8 guests
--sit-down meal to follow with the fruits of your labor, and generous amounts of wine!
You might just say that Josh Mitchell and Napa Valley Heritage Catering has been a pot on “simmer” for the past 16 years.
Born and raised here in the Napa Valley, Josh began working in some of the most respected professional local kitchens including Auberge du Soleil, Bistro Jeanty, the CIA and Meadowood. He worked front of house, back of house and all the places in between. The Carneros Inn, AdHoc, SolBar and JoLe have all been graced by Josh Mitchell’s presence.
Some Napa natives enjoy the rewards of growing up in this marvelous region, then harvest the riches in another locale. Not Josh. He put on his apron here 16 years ago, and continues to call our valley home.
Josh is now on a “rolling boil” and has his own commercial kitchen and catering company, dedicated to the Napa Valley aesthetic. He grows most of his own weekly produce, and raises rare breeds of heritage hogs to be used at his table. He caters, does pop-up dinners and cooks for many happy hostesses.
And now, Josh is opening up his kitchen for a cooking class, just for you and the friends you most enjoy breaking bread with. Join Josh in his Napa Valley Heritage Catering Kitchen in Calistoga and learn to make pasta, and heirloom tomato sauce. Learn to truss a chicken the proper way and make bread to boot.
You can tell Josh what you most want to learn—he’ll teach you.
Then, sit down and eat!
There will be copious wine in the fridge to toast your prowess, and for you to thank your lucky stars that our local boy made good, and we’re all the beneficiaries.
Date for this event by mutual availability.
