The game, historically reserved for children over the age of 7, is now being taught to children as young as 3 through our amazing program Chess At Three! Chess At Three is the authority in early childhood chess education, teaching children ages 3-10. We have created an unforgettable and interactive story-based learning environment, which teaches 100% of our children to play and develop a love for chess. The Chess At Three approach teaches much more than the rudimentary rules of chess. Students also learn: the importance of sportsmanship, literacy and chess notation, chess history, and math, just to name a few. Lessons include interactive moments, physical movements ("chessercizes"), and guidelines for game play at each level of development.
Chess At Three's unique approach is taught to over 15,000 children each week through hundreds of school partnerships and in private homes. A national study also found that Chess At Three's method increased students' assessment scores across all categories by over 18%!
