Item Description

Rillmark (n): The mark left by the rills of retreating water after a wave breaks on the shore.

Rillmark is started as a traditionally constructed pi shawl, with lace and texture elements inspired by the place where the water meets the shore. After the body is complete, the asymmetrical border is worked using simple lace and increases.

Handknit using designer yarn from Haneke Wool (35% Merino, 35% Linen / Flax, 30% Alpaca). Colorway 2199 (deep burgundy).

Finished Measurements: approximately 70” (178 cm) wingspan, 19” (48.5 cm) depth. Please note that additional length is added to the wingspan by stretching during blocking, which in turn compresses the depth slightly. If preferred, shawl may be blocked to a true half-circle, in which case your dimensions will be 59 3/4” (152 cm) wingspan, 25 7/8” (65.5 cm) depth.

Handknit by OMS parent Carol Bradford-Roe using designer yarn from Haneke Wool (35% Merino, 35% Linen / Flax, 30% Alpaca). Kindly modeled by OMS teacher Wendy Hayward.
