Item Description
This extraordinary knife was donated by our good friend Annette. It features a bone handle with inlaid brass and Tibetan silver and a red stone cabochon in a very tall bezel that mirrors the one on the sheath. The gracefully curved sheath also boasts two rough turquoise stones bezel-set in a silver filigree ground, separated by an area of rough-faceted inlaid quartz. The sides and bottom of the sheath are adorned with chased Tibetan silver in floral and geometric patterns. Both the sheath and the knife have eyes for attaching to clothing, and a piece of rawhide for that purpose remains attached to the sheath. The full-tang steel blade is sharp, and the sheath is lined with wood for a snug, protective and satisfying fit.
This knife must be seen and held in person to be truly appreciated. It is one of the finest examples of this object we have ever seen.
