Item Description
Abigail Wamboldt's work discusses how the sexual self is formed and acted upon. Let's Be Alone Together is inspired by a lyric from Leonard Cohen's song "Waiting for the Miracle". It is a romantic piece which strives to expose the ephemeral space between two people who, despite sharing the most intimate of actions, are incapable of finding a way to reach each other.
Wamboldt lives and works in Providence, Rhode Island. She holds an MFA in Painting from the University of New Hampshire, and is currently a Visiting Lecturer in Studio Art at the Community College of Rhode Island. She is a recipient of the Edwin and Mary Schafer Award, the George Gabin Award for Excellence in Painting and her work is in many private collections.
