Item Description
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico wines are rich, red amarone wines from the traditional classico viticultural zone of Valpolicella in Veneto, north-eastern Italy.
One of Veneto's most famous and prestigious wines, Amarone della Valpolicella has played a vital part in boosting the region's status in the wine world. Those examples from the classico vineyards around Fumane, Marano, Negar and Sant'Ambroglio are considered the finest, and rank among the top wines in Italy.
This wine (90 points) is an inky ruby colour of great intensity. The nose is powerful, open and opulent full of sweet spice, fleshy fruit, chocolate, coffee, herbs and oak. The palate is full of ripe tight grained tannins with mouthfuls of ripe plums, black cherries and spice.
This bottle (an Imperial) is equal to 8 standard bottles, or 2 Double Magnums.
