Item Description
Artist statement:
"A Charleston local and Atlanta Native, I am a visual artist and designer with a vivid aesthetic. During my four years at the College of Charleston, I followed my love of studio art and developed an emphasis in sculpture. Simultaneously, I began creating my first collection of original spray-painted skateboard decks. This has become the ideal canvas for me to implement my worldly design inspiration - from Portuguese Tiles to Native American blankets to Moroccan Rugs. My sculptures give me the opportunity to play with the visual stimulation that results from various shapes and unexpected color combinations.
When I'm not working in my James Island studio, you can find me at Cortney Bishop Design happily making interior vision boards come to life.
My work has been featured at The Southern Gallery, The Vendue Inn, The Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, Redux Studios, Low Country Local First, One West Victory (SCAD) and Charleston Supported Art. Select pieces are currently for sale at The Southern Gallery, Charleston's newest contemporary art gallery."
