Item Description

For a high school or college student (and family member or friend) considering acting or directing or for anyone fascinated with today's theatrical world!

Originally from New Jersey, Phoebe moved to New York in the fall of 2011 to study acting at the Maggie Flanigan Studio. At 17, she was the youngest student to have ever been admitted to the Meisner conservatory program. She graduated in 2013 and was then chosen by The Labyrinth Theater for their Acting Fellowship, where she participated in monthly masterclasses led by company members. That same year she was a founding member of Ruddy Productions, a new theater company comprised of Maggie Flanigan alumni. It was with Ruddy that she directed her first piece, Come and Take It, in the company's first annual Short Works Festival in 2014. The piece was selected to compete in the Nu*Ten festival and went on to win first place. She is now one of Ruddy's Resident Directors, directing pieces like Sinners On A Southbound Bus which premiered in the 2016 New York Fringe Festival and was named a FringeFAVE. She has had the amazing opportunity to assistant direct two productions at Labyrinth: Nice Girl and The Way West, both directed by Mimi O'Donnell. While working on The Way West - she was invited to be the company's inaugural Directing Apprentice, offering her an opportunity to develop new work at Labyrinth under the guidance of Ms. O'Donnell.

Lunch with Phoebe and learn about the experiences of young directors in New York today.
