Item Description

Votes for Women 9" Plate

Made in the USA in Wellsville, Ohio in the 1980's for the Preservation Society of Newport County. The back has the following: Mrs. Alva Erskine Smith Vanderbilt Belmont (1853-1933) was first married to K. Vanderbilt, grandson of Cornelius, in 1895. At the time of her divorce, she came under the influence of Anna Howard Shaw, a noted suffragette and worked the rest of her life with the most militant groups of the suffrage movement. This service with the motto "Votes for Women" was used in 1909 at the famous Suffragette open house held at Marble House, Newport.

Right to Vote Commemorative Stamp(s) - Set of Two(2)

This is a genuine United States postage stamp commemorating the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution in 1920 giving women the right to vote. The stamp is printed on both sides (there is a printed description on the back) and is in mint, never hinged post office fresh condition as issued in the 1990's.

Suffrage Collectable: Pantsuit Postcard

Check out that pantsuit! Printed in England circa 1915, a priest denies entry to a suffragette women only lecture “not in these trousers.” Pant suits may note have taken hold back then, but women finally got the right to vote in 1921.
