This August, experience the best produce the season has to offer with a weekly vegetable share from Fifth Crow Farms. Fifth Crow Farm grows a large diversity of products and each share contains an assortment of what they grow. From beets & leeks to lettuce & baby greens, from dry beans to pastured eggs, from blackberries, strawberries & rhubarb to apples & pears... They pride themselves in producing the highest quality and most nutritious food possible while continuing to build their soils and improve the farm for future generations of farmers and eaters. All food from the farm is certified organic by CCOF and Fifth Crow Farm is Bee Friendly Farm certified. The Baywood Auction has arranged a special one-month subscription to Fifth crow farms Weekly vegetable Share program. With a weekly vegetable share, you will pickup a share of vegetables from a designated location, like the San Mateo Farmers market. Here is what you can expect in your Veggie box: Baby head lettuce / bunching greens (varieties vary week to week), a root crop (carrots, beets, turnips, or radishes, potatoes), a bag of pre-washed baby greens (baby arugula, mesclun salad mix, or spinach), a brassica (broccoli, cauliflower, kohlrabi, or cabbage), an allium (leeks, onions, shallots or spring onions), two baskets of strawberries (albion) or blackberries, and in the fall, apples from our 27-variety heirloom orchard, and hopefully pears from our new pear orchard, an herb (dill, cilantro, basil, thyme, oregano, sage, etc.) PLUS another 1 3 seasonal items: summer squash, winter squash, tomatoes, padrone, poblano, or sweet peppers, green beans, tomatillos, and more You will also receive a pound of seven different varieties of heirloom dry beans.
