The inaugural Roundabout Underground production, Speech and Debate, debuted in 2007 and starred Sarah Steele (The Humans, Spanglish), Gideon Glick (Spring Awakening), Jason Fuchs (Flipper, La La Land), and Susan Blackwell ([title of show], P.S. I Love You).
Sons of the Prophet debuted in 2011 and starred Yusef Bulos (Fiddler on the Roof, "Awakenings"), Jonathan Louis Dent (Henry IV Parts 1 & 2, Church & State), Santino Fontata (Billy Elliot, "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend"), Tony Award Winner Joanna Gleason (Into the Woods, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Lizbeth Mackay (All My Sons, Doubt), and more!
Roundabout presented the New York premiere of The Humans, directed by Two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello (The Last Ship, Roundabout’s Assassins) in the Off-Broadway Laura Pels Theatre in 2015, before it transferred to Broadway.
The “smart and provocative” (Jeremy Gerard, Deadline) production of The Cherry Orchard debuted in 2016. This new adaptation starred Academy Award nominee Diane Lane (Trumbo, Cinema Verite, Unfaithful, Under the Tuscan Sun), Oscar, Tony, BAFTA, and Golden Globe winner Joel Grey (Cabaret, George M!, Wicked), Tony winner Chuck Cooper (The Life, The Piano Lesson, Two Trains Running), Tavi Gevinson (The Crucible, This is Our Youth, “Scream Queens”), Tony and Obie award winner John Glover (Love! Valour! Compassion!, Waiting For Godot, The Drowsy Chaperone), Tony nominee Celia Keenan-Bolger (The Glass Menagerie, Peter And The Starcatcher, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Harold Perrineau (Dreamgirls, Avenue X, Smoke), Kyle Beltran (In The Heights), and more!
