By purchasing this item, you are inspiring an entire class of students to become the next generation of Space Heroes!
A field trip would be provided for a class of thirty students from a Title 1 School in Colorado to our Space Foundation Discovery Center. The field trip will be awarded through our scholarship program, which covers the admission fee for 30 students. The next Neil Armstrong or Sally Ride could be in the class you fund. Make your impact, and fund a field trip today!
Teachers would complete an application, including a narrative that explains how their class will benefit from the field trip. Each application must be approved either by the school principal or district administrator. Our goal is to have motivated teachers that will take what they learn on the field trip and expand upon it in the classroom, keeping that motivation and excitement for STEM education flowing with their students. Each scholarship recipient will be able to choose from a list of our current courses that aligns with their academic needs.
Each field trip will consist of a 20-35minute session in one of our three educational labs, followed by a 40-60 minute hands-on activity or demonstration taught by a Space Foundation Space Education Specialist. Students also have had the opportunity to tour the El Pomar Space Gallery, home to our collection of space artifacts and exhibits. The field trip will be taken during the 2017-18 academic year.
