Item Description

Did you know that the Horace Mann campus is currently the site of an exciting experiment in urban growing? We have used the Groasis Waterboxx for trees on our New Mexico hillside for years. But the Waterboxx can do much more than trees--let's do some urban farming, too!  Trees for the Planet, a D.C. non-profit, is leading this ecological and educational program to innovate and promote the use of the Waterboxx in urban farming.
This year, we are offering your own Vegetable Garden Waterboxx and Tomatoes to begin your urban farming adventure! Your winning bid entitles you to the original high-tech plastic version (re-usable for up to 10 years), setup for two plants, and two tomato plants.
Additionally, Peter Forbes, President of Trees for the Planet (and our Mann neighbor at Sutton Towers) and Amy Jagodnik, our School Garden Coordinator, will have a discussion with you on finding the right location for your new garden.

Item Special Note

Please contact Amy before June 30, 2017 to make arrangements for your Waterboxx and plants.

Local Northwest D.C. only.
