Item Description
Synergy MS Math Teacher, Dan will take one student and three friends on a hike on Steep Ravine Trail in Marin County. Hike on Dan's favorite trail through redwood Groves and past waterfalls to a steep ladder in the middle of the trail.
Dan will pick up students at Synergy and drive to Pantoll Station on Mt. Tampalais
Hike down Steep Ravine to Dipsea Trail (1.6 miles/50mins). Dipsea Trail back to Old Mine Trail (1.6 miles/50 mins). Old Mine Trail Back to Pantoll Station (0.9 miles/25 mins). Enjoy a picnic lunch and return to Synergy.
Length of Hike: 4.1 miles / 3 hours (with breaks)
Difficulty: This is a very steep hike for about a mile near the beginning of the Steep Ravine trail.
Hikers should be able to maintain a moderate hiking pace for a few hours.
Students should have a daypack for water, snacks and extra clothes.
Dan will supply transportation, snacks and picnic lunch.
