300 SL, children’s pedal car, 300 SL, W198 II, pedal car
Children’s silver-coloured pedal car. Simplified version of the 300 SL. One red seat. Stuttgart number plate "S-SL-300". TÜV and safety-tested. The series-produced version of the 300 SL, presented at the "International Motor Sports Show" in New York in February 1954, was based on the 1952-season racing car. It was from this model that the vehicle derived its most distinctive feature, the famous gullwing doors that gave rise to its nickname. This unusual solution wasn’t simply a gimmick, designed to grab public attention – it was a purely structural requirement: the high-strength space frame, adopted from the racing SL and weighing just 50 kg, had the drawback that its height left no space for conventional doors. 300 SL Roadster, children’s pedal car. Silver-coloured. Ages 3 to 5. Steel chassis. Handbrake. Accurate reproduction of front and rear bumpers, headlamps and radiator. Size approx. 122 x 52 x 42 cm. By toys toys for Mercedes-Benz.
