Item Description
Lithograph, 1850 (D. 2239). A fine impression sur blanc (a special edition for collectors).
Daumier was one of the great French artists of the 19th Century. His commentary on the social and political life of his era remains timeless. His work in the relatively new artistic medium of lithography is prolific and distinctive. His paintings and drawings are scarce, so that every major museum in the world has an extensive collection of Daumier lithographs.
