A 2-night Primitive Camping Adventure in Northern California for up to 4 people (18+ y/o).
Professional Instruction sessions:
Firearms
- Basic Firearms Safety (4 Primary Rules, Range Rules)
- Firearms Operation (Anatomy, Nomenclature, Function)
- Firing (Grip, Stance, Site, Holster Draw, Trigger Control)
- Care and Cleaning (disassembly, cleaning, storage)
- Two different sessions: Handgun and Carbine/Rifle
Basic Wilderness Skills, Bushcraft
- Primitive Fire starting and cooking
- Woodsman Knife Skills
- Shelter building
- Water purification (primitive and modern)
- Wilderness First Aid
Basic Emergency Preparedness
- Constructing a simple portable Emergency Kit for Camping, your Get Home Bag or for your car. (provided for each participant)
- The 5 C’s (Combustion, Cutting, Cover, Container, Cordage)
- Disaster Preparedness Mindset
This is for one weekend only. Available dates are: May 6-7, or June 3-4, or July 1-2.
Prerequisites: California Handgun Safety Certificate. Camping gear, water, snacks
Instructor Bios:
Rob 35-year veteran of Sonoma County and San Diego County Sheriff’s Offices. Certified FBI Firearms Instructor in handgun, shotgun and carbine. assignments included SWAT, Firearms, Gang Unit, Bomb Squad. Instructor for the Santa Rosa Junior College Public Safety Training Center Police Academy and the National Parks Academy, for over 30 years
CJ. Former US Marine 12 years: Jungle Environmental Survival Trianing (JEST) Instructor, Survive Evade Resist Escape (SERE) Instructor. Alameda County Sheriff: Site Captain SWAT Competition (Urban Shield) 5 years, Range Safety Officer 5 years, Carbine/Pistol Instructor 2 years, Tactical Medic for SWAT. Avid Woodsman, hunter, bowman and fisherman.
