Made with Maple, Wenge, Yellowheart, Bloodwood and blue colored wood. This bowl has 5,689 pieces with each row having 144 pieces. Between the design and build this bowl took over 80 hours to make.
Item Special Note
Tom has been cutting and gluing pieces of wood for more than two decades and has focused on segmented woodturning for the last several years. He can think of nothing better than to create new ways to design that pushes boundaries. Tom's passion is segmented woodturning and loves nothing better than to share and teach others his passion.
Tom demonstrated his segmented techniques at the 2014 and 2016 Segmented Woodturners Symposiums. He is a member of the AAW Segmented Woodturning Chapter where his work has been featured. Tom has also demonstrated on segmented woodturning at regional woodturning clubs.
Tom is a retired electrical engineer and lives in Duluth, MN where he resides with his wife. Some of his work can be viewed at www.segmentedturning.org.
