Item Special Note
I make art from wood using a lathe as his primary tool. Wood has physical, emotional and cultural properties that are compelling and resistant to my efforts. I work at this pursuit in a dusty, noisy, crowded basement room, filled with potential art in the form of firewood and junk, waiting to enter my process.
Art is the process for generating visual possibilities. This path is based on previous work and visual stimuli both natural and manufactured. I am led toward new work of an undetermined nature made with materials not yet acquired, using techniques not yet learned, with tools not yet conceived, to create forms and relationships not yet fully visualized or understood.
Robb is a retired surgical nurse and lives in Duluth. He is a member of the Lake Superior Woodturners and the American Association of Woodturners.
