Have fun, build friendships and make memories acting, singing and dancing with us as we study the performing arts.  Ages 8-17.

Personalized Attention:  With one instructor for every 10 or fewer students, you'll get lots of personal attention.  

Exceptional Staff: Our staff are teaching artists with acting, singing, and dancing backgrounds, and they have extensive experience working with kids.  THey know how to encourage and cater to individual creative needs and experience of every child, nirturing their talent and encouraging them to have fun.

Classes are held in the Frostig Center in Pasadena where we enjoy a closed lunch and play area, full kitchen, breakout rooms, and a newly refurbished theatre.

Acting Up! provides programs for kids and teens year round. Our Spring and Fall Workshops are once-a-week acting classes, in which students learn theater terminology, stage directions, elements of story and character, improvisation techniques, and voice in a safe, nurturing environment. At the end of the workshop the students will all take part in a final presentation on the main stage at the Frostig School for friends and family.

Christina Harris (Founder/Director) has taught acting and dance classes for kids and adults for over 20 years. As a professional actor and plus-size dancer, she has performed around the country and on television. Most recently Christina was the winner of the hit TLC dance competition, Master of Dance, earning her the title of the same name. As the drama teacher at the Frostig School in Pasadena, Christina has the opportunity to work with kids grades K-12 to enhance their academic curriculum and instill a love of the arts for all her students.

Matthew Herrmann (Instructor) is the founder and president of Soda Pop Revisited, a music and arts festival that provides regional artists a platform to showcase their talent alongside nationally and internationally known acts. Mr. Herrmann was an advisor for Indiana’s Signature High School’s musical theater department as well as the beloved French Woods Festival of the Performing Artswhere he directed over 35 productions. A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design and the Groundlings, Mr. Herrmann continued his stage work by originating characters in the Los Angeles’ cult hits Prairie-oke, and Are You There God? It’s Me, Karen Carpenter. He recently produced the New York Premiere of JACK: the life of JFK and is currently in developments on a production with the Grind Arts Company to be presented, in conjunction, with Princeton University.

Items and/or certificates must be picked up at The Waverly School Elementary Campus at scheduled times or in the business office after those dates. Shipping can be requested by the winner at an additional cost. The Waverly School and/or donors are not responsible for shipping fees.
