Item Description

Jarvis Estate 2010 Napa Valley Estate Cab Sauvignon, Petit Verdot & Science Project, 3 Bottles

Jarvis Estate 2010 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, 2010 Estate Napa Valley Petit Verdot & 2010 Will Jarvis' Science Project, Napa Valley Cabernet Franc.

Name of Winery: Jarvis Estate

Bottle Size: 750ml

Number of Bottles: Three

Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc

Appellation: Napa Valley

2010 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon: Our estate grown, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is our flagship wine. With a minimum of 24 months in 100% new French oak barrels, it is released only after nearly five years of aging in our perfect cave conditions. A wine of superior balance, you can taste the care that this wine has received, making it ready to enjoy upon release.

The 2010 vintage is a remarkable 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine that entices you with its dark crimson color and intense aromas. Medium tannins gracefully lead you on a journey with many a nuance. Twenty-five months in new French Haute Futaie oak barrels adds a dimension of toasty vanilla. After bottling, the wine continued its aging development in the bottle for three more years prior to its release, making it perfect for enjoyment now. Best to consume within 10 years from harvest.

2010 Estate Napa Valley Petit Verdot: Petit Verdot is a finicky little grape packed with a lot of power. It is usually the last to ripen during harvest. As a specialty wine, it is developing quite a following. While Petit Verdot contributes a beautiful deep color and black fruit flavor to our Lake William blend, a small amount of the crop is bottled 100% varietal. This provides you a unique tasting experience of a varietal not commonly seen unblended.

2010 Will Jarvis' Science Project, Napa Valley Cabernet Franc: It's exciting to imagine that a young boy's science project could become a world class wine, but that's exactly what happened!  Will Jarvis, the son of William and Leticia, made wine for his 8th grade science project.  When sampled a decade later, the result was exceptional and inspired the 2007 debut vintage of this wine, always fermented in small half-size barrels so as to approximate the original Science Project.

An alluring blend of 95% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot combine to create an elegantly perfumed wine with a hint of mulberries. With fresh, fruit forward flavor, this wine is intended to be enjoyed at an early age. The 2010 vintage was cave aged in new French oak for ten months, followed by another nearly two years of cave aging before release in September 2013 for your enjoyment.
