Item Description

Host a dinner party for 6 people without having to cook a morsel. You will be the envy of all your friends when you serve up this delicious vegetarian meal. Choose one from these 6 scrumptious options: 

Ashkenazic: A dairy meal made in the tradition of the Ashkenazic Jews- dishes which will bring back memories of holidays at Bubbe and Zayde's like cold beet borscht, baked potato or cabbage kinshes, tsimmes, blintzes and more." 

Thai: Be transported by the flavors of the East- lemongrass, lime, coconut, peanut, Thai basil, ginger and turmeric. Enjoy a crisp green mango salad, vegetable or tofu curry, steaming jasmine rice, a rice noodle dish,  and finish  with exotic fruit and a sticky rice dessert " 

Italian: If you can't get to Italy, let Italy come to you, Enjoy vegetable antipasti, fresh crusty bread with dipping oil, pasta and sauce of your choice, fresh green salad, garlicky sautéed vegetable of your choice, fresh fruit and a decadent dessert.  Buon appetito! 

Middle Eastern: The scents and flavors of this meal will take you on a magic carpet ride to the streets of the Middle East.  Whet your appetite with lemon infused stuffed grape leaves and roasted eggplant with garlic, before you feast on tabbouleh, falafel, Israeli salad and humus with fixings of your choice.  End this fabulous feast with cardamom cookies, dried fruits, nuts and honey drenched custard pie. 

Indian: Contrast is the focus of this delectable Indian meal.  Flood your taste buds with flavors and sensation.  Bite into crunchy cool radishes, green onions and cucumbers dressed in creamy cumin mint dressing, before sampling a piping hot vegetable pakora in a sweet and tangy tamarind sauce.  Your meal continues with a mushroom hariyali kebab or eggplant bartha in ginger, garlic and tomato, with a mint coriander chutney, Gobi masala (cauliflower in a rich tomato cream sauce, saag paneer (spinach with homemade cheese cubes), basmati rice and naan to wipe up every last drop.  Save room for dessert of fresh mango and kheer (rice pudding) with cardamom or gulab jamun drizzled with cardamom syrup.

Macrobiotic: A macrobiotic diet emphasizes local and seasonal foods.  Your menu will be designed according to what is locally and seasonally available.  Begin with a soup of seasonal vegetables in a vegetable herb broth.  Next, enjoy a plant protein such as beans, or lentils or mushrooms with side dishes of a yellow or orange vegetable, a green leafy vegetable, another vegetable all cooked with just a little sea salt or spice to showcase the actual flavor of the food.
